SPRINGBOARD 2

Background

The Sports Tech industry is rapidly transforming how athletes train, compete, and engage with their sport. Yet women remain significantly underrepresented in this field, particularly in leadership and entrepreneurial roles. Building on the experience of Springboard 1, this project responds to the clear need for gender-focused training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for women athletes who wish to transition into entrepreneurship and innovation in Sports Tech.

Objectives

  • Empower Women Athletes: Provide entrepreneurial, leadership, and technological skills to women athletes aged 24–35.

  • Build Supportive Communities: Establish mentorship platforms and networking opportunities with industry leaders and peers.

  • Bridge the Gender Gap: Promote inclusive policies and practices in Sports Tech companies to tackle systemic biases.

  • Promote EU Values: Advance equality, inclusion, and diversity across the European Sports Tech ecosystem

Project Results

  • At least 100 women athletes engaged in Sports Tech entrepreneurship during the 24-month project.

  • 5 training modules and at least 50 mentor–mentee relationships established.

  • A European network and digital platform for women in Sports Tech, hosting events and fostering ongoing collaboration.

  • Policy recommendations and best practices adopted by at least 20 organisations to improve gender equality in Sports Tech
