Developing the Digital Skills of Adult Coaches and Instructors in the field of Sports Technology

Background

Adult sports coaches and instructors need to be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for a dynamically changing sports world that is increasingly digital. This project aims to train adult sports coaches and instructor to improve their digital literacy, competencies, and skills so that they have the necessary attitude as foreseen by the EU’ digital transformation goals.

Objectives

The project's main objective is to improve the availability of high-quality, flexible learning opportunities for adult sports coaches and instructors.

The specific objectives are:

  • to promote lifelong learning, DigiLead will provide up-skilling pathways to low-skilled adults, solve cost and accessibility issues, and support continuous professional development by providing a web-based, multilingual eLearning platform in line with the EUCO Recommendation of May 22, 2018 on key competencies for lifelong learning;

  • to promote the development of new skills in adult sports coaches and instructors using online eLearning methods, assisting individuals who reside in rural or distant places, bypassing geographic barriers, and fully aligning with the program priority Diversity and Inclusion;

  • to strengthen efforts to advance the development of adult sports coaches' and instructors' digital proficiency and analytic skills, fully aligning with the program priority of digital transformation; and

  • to increase the preferability of adult sports coaches and instructors as sports employees by supporting them to develop digital literacy, which is the common aim of both the UN’s SDG and the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan.
