Oslo, 19 June 2025 – On Thursday afternoon Collective Innovation (COLIN) and Norwegian Sport Tech welcomed a mixed crowd of sports professionals, tech experts, founders and students to the very first Strategic Foresight 4 Sport (SF4Sport) seminar & workshop at Myrens Verksted.
From predicting to shaping the future
In his opening remarks COLIN founder Håkon Ege explained why futures literacy is becoming a competitive edge as AI analytics, sustainability demands and immersive fan experiences transform sport. Workshop leader Kamil Kazım Sarı—futurist and Teach the Future practitioner—then introduced strategic foresight as a practical method to
spot weak signals and drivers of change,
build multiple scenarios instead of relying on a single “most likely” outcome, and
turn insight into robust decisions today.
Using the model “Four Attitudes to the Future”, Sarı showed how organisations can shift from a passive to a truly proactive stance.
An interactive session: exploring tomorrow’s pain-points
Participants discussed the uncertainties most likely to influence Norwegian and international sport over the next decade. Hot topics included:
Hyper-personalised broadcasting and new revenue streams from immersive fan journeys
AI-driven talent development and health data—ethical frameworks for “smart” apparel
Sustainable venues and the growing demand for positive social impact
The discussions quickly moved from “What if…?” to “What then?”—and, most importantly, “What now?”.
Three key takeaways
Foresight builds resilience – “Understanding multiple futures gives us a safety net when change accelerates,” Sarı noted.
Futures work is a team sport – Sports professionals, coaches, technologists and investors must share perspectives to avoid blind spots.
Small steps, big impact – Start with a single exercise (e.g., Future Headlines) and feed the results into your next strategy cycle.
